I draw out the plan and then pierce it out from a 1 mm sheet of brass.
I make the sides out of cardboard first.

Placeholder Picture

Then I solder the sides on and bend them into various forms.

Placeholder Picture

Then I prop the body up and work out the diameter of the wheels.

Placeholder Picture

Making the spokes of a wheel is always a mission.
With this one, I draw them out on a flat sheet of carving wax and pierce out the shape with a wax saw.

Placeholder Picture

After carving them into the shape I want, I sand cast them using the Delft sand casting technique.

Placeholder Picture

After casting, I trim off the excess.

Placeholder Picture

Basic rear wheel set.

Placeholder Picture

I file the rims and fix them in place with placer screws.

Placeholder Picture

For the front wheels I pierced the spokes out of 3 mm brass plate.

Placeholder Picture

The axles will be made next.

Placeholder Picture

I sand cast some Demon supports for the front axle.

Placeholder Picture

Axles fitted and Demon supports are in place.  Trust me, I know what I am doing.

Placeholder Picture

Making the demons out of copper plate.

Placeholder Picture

The eyes are a silver ring that will get the cabochon and a painted iris in later.

Placeholder Picture

Most of the demons are made this way.

Fitting the demons onto the soul catcher.

Placeholder Picture

Starting the ghoul face.

Placeholder Picture

Adding more copper strips.

Placeholder Picture

Ghoul finished with patina.

Placeholder Picture

Staring with the soul flitter darts.

Placeholder Picture

Shaping them.
I want them to be perched onto the rear struts like little dragon fly thingi's that buzz out and catch passing souls.

Placeholder Picture

I drew a design on them and pierced it out
This was for the prep for plique-à-jour enameling.

Placeholder Picture

I turned some basic bodies out of brass and screwed them onto the wings.

Placeholder Picture

I made a nose claw out of aliminium, added an iron stinger in the tail.

Placeholder Picture

Then I made six legs for each. I set them up in wax.

Placeholder Picture

Then I set them in casting plaster.

Placeholder Picture

That way I could solder the center portion in more easily.

Placeholder Picture

Breaking the plaster apart.

Placeholder Picture

Here is the basic soul dart.
I melted a glass rod into two bobbles on each side of the head so it locks into place.

Placeholder Picture

The legs stand on a complicated support that forms a cage.
The green glass is captured in between the legs, symbolically representing a catholic bishop's pedophile soul.

Placeholder Picture

The wings are packed with enamel before firing.

The wings after firing and cleaning up and polishing.

From below showing the enamel and glass work.

Placeholder Picture

Making the front soul catchers.  Copper, iron and brass.

Placeholder Picture

Polished, stabilized and ready to be mounted.

Placeholder Picture

I used glow in the dark resin to make the leaf petals.

Placeholder Picture

Three demon heads. Still have to do the eyes.

Placeholder Picture

A close up of one of the demon flowers.
There are six of those, all different.

Placeholder Picture

Another one, each more evil than the next.

Placeholder Picture

Making the rear wheel tracks.

Placeholder Picture

After the treads are cut out, they are domed.

Placeholder Picture

One of the wheels being assembled.

Placeholder Picture

I like the ribbles on the side of the wheel.  I cut them out with a separating disk.
Then I round the tips with a cup burr.

Placeholder Picture

I made these for all four wheels.

Placeholder Picture

All the wheels have the same soul grippers and hooking ability.

Placeholder Picture

I glued charcoal pieced into the center and then painted them so they looked like they were glowing.

Placeholder Picture

Close up of another demon.

All the wheels have the same soul grippers and hooking ability.

Placeholder Picture

This one has peridot eyes that I faceted.

Placeholder Picture

This one has citrine eyes.

Placeholder Picture

This is a soul gripper. It needs to be strong because when evil souls are caught, they are very heavy with sin.

Placeholder Picture

Rear view.

Placeholder Picture

Close up of a front wheel.

Placeholder Picture

It's got the shit ton of demons ready to catch all the depraved pedophile souls and bring them down to the chief demon for eternal processing.

Placeholder Picture

There is about 500 hours of work in this piece.
